So lately, I have felt like I need to be giving back more. I am not wealthy so giving a chunk of money was out of the question. But I do have something that everyone can benefit from. I want to offer my services as a photographer to all my friends…..or friends of friends, whoever needs it that comes into contact with me somehow. If you know of someone that needs a quick shoot (family, baby, engagement, whatever) and they just haven’t been able to afford a good photographer, then give them my info.

It’s been a hard year for everyone and I think everyone benefits from good photos of something or someone they love.

All the month of November I will be doing free shoots. My only limits are it has to be in Austin and my time…I have to work around my day job and my regular schedule with my daughter. But bring it on. Hopefully this will help anyone that needs some Christmas cards and just can’t get it done or it will just keep me crazy busy during a not so busy month.

Around town

I have lived in Austin most of my life….minus detours for college and what not. For me, some of the attractions have lost their luster because I’ve passed by it so many times it’s just a part of the scenery. I realize that Austin is a great city and all the wonderful things about it are different for every person. I love that about Austin most. It is a very adaptive city and the people in it are what make that so.

A while back, I decided to do a personal project. I wanted to capture some of Austin in a different way than what is normally seen. That’s been hard because there are so many creative people here. Well, this project started a while ago and is still yet to finish….it’s on my to do list, the never ending to do list. So I’ll just have to keep you updated on my additions.

I dragged Alyssa around with me on this trip with bribes of ice cream and amazing scenery along the way. The scenery lost it’s appeal almost 5 minutes into the walk, but she did make sure to remind me of the ice cream every chance she could after that.

So cool fact about the capitol: if you stand right under this star and whisper, it echos loudly only to you. So you’ll whisper and then laugh at how loud you sound and then laugh even more after hearing how loud you were in this huge quiet place…..but in all truth you just look silly in the middle of the capital. I’ll admit it, I do it every time I go in there.

See….I had to put up the others so I can show off how much he’s grown. Oh my goodness….he’s just gotten so big and it doesn’t even seem like it’s been that long. It’s so crazy how fast life goes. I loved doing these because while working on them I was just overwhelmed by how important these are and how much he changes. I know with my daughter I took LOTS of photos, but it is so awesome to see these and know they have them to remember little Jack by. I’m so thankful to be in Rachel and Richard’s so I can document their family and have wonderful friends. Enjoy guys.

I know I haven’t been great about blogging here. If you haven’t heard, Laura and I launched our company. I am so relieved to have that started!! Which is the reason I have not blogged much…I know I know not much of an excuse for having such a long absence. But here are some photos I got to do of baby Jack when he was 6 weeks old. A while back, but I couldn’t put up his almost 6 month old photos without showing you these. So enjoy the new baby smell.

I got to hang out with this super fun couple a while back. I have to say, these two are some of the most fun people that I’ve gotten to hang out with in a while. I was laughing the whole time I was getting the group and couple shots. They are super funny, but they were also a great fit for each other. They were surrounded by loving family and friends. I was so excited to be a part of their day. That and Alyssa got to come along too. Got to see one of my past brides, which is always awesome. So thank you both for having me there!!

Alyssa always thinks of brides as princesses….so imagine how she felt when the “princess” wanted to fix her dress. Oh man did she love the attention!!
